Bonnie Brennen is Professor Emerita at Marquette University and editor-in-chief of Journalism Practice. Her research addresses relationships between media, culture, technology and society. She is the author/editor of seven books and one novel and her research has been published in edited books and academic journals.

Brennen previously served as chair of the Department of Journalism at Temple and has also been on the faculty at the University of Missouri, Virginia Commonwealth University and SUNY Geneseo, after earning her Ph.D. at the University of Iowa. She is the author of For the Record: An Oral History of Rochester, New York Newsworkers and the co-editor of Picturing the Past: Media, History and Photography and Newsworkers: Towards a History of the Rank and File. She has also published numerous book chapters and articles in professional journals. She has received a number of teaching and research awards.
